I tried booking online for a one night stay as I had a doctors appt. and I live outside of Knoxville Tn. I was told I would get the room for 49.99, the internet price. Well, first thing the room was not clean, as dust covered entire room. The room smelled musty and the curtains were full of dust. The next thing was the wireless internet service. I was able to get online, but kept being knocked off, then the service went off for 3 hours before I was able to get back online, the night clerk said he was unable to help! At checkout next morning I was charged 62.09! I said this isn't right. The desk clerk said, well our manager will have to take care of that and he isn't here, so I will have him call you at your home number. I said, ok, because this isn't right. Well that was on July 20, 2007 and it is now July 25, 2007 and I have heard nothing! I am now in the process of trying to contact the main office as to this problem The motel is being remodeled, and the mess that was in the lobby and on the floors was terrible. This was my first stay at a Motel 8 and the experience was so bad that I will not consider staying here again. The location was perfect as my doctor was close, but I had rather travel a longer distance and have a nice clean and dependable motel for my stay and I did not find this at the Super 8 Motel in Abingdon.
